Parents of kindergarten students, you may have seen on your child’s backpack a little awesome attendance tag. We tested this out with our kindergarten students to tighten up our system for celebrating good attendance at school.
Rather than celebrate “Perfect Attendance,” which can sometimes send children to school when they are sick, so they get the award, we celebrate “Awesome Attendance”. So a student with two or fewer absences in the month will receive a little brag tag for the month. Students who had Awesome Attendance in August, September, and October received three on their backpacks. We also had a dance party with the whole grade to celebrate all of our students!
First through fifth-grade parents, keep an eye out on your kids’ backpacks, and ask if they have had their Awesome Attendance Dance Party!
