Joel Trammell

Hello My Name Is...
Joel Trammell

How did I get to Western Valley Elementary School? I started out teaching in a small farming community after graduating from the University of South Dakota in 1979. I taught grade five and coached basketball in a K-12 school for two years. I got married and moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where I taught in the Strategic Air Command community of Bellevue, Nebraska. My wife and I spent 12 years teaching overseas with the Department of Defense Dependent School System. We continued our overseas experience teaching in Saudi Arabia. In between I taught with the Litchfield District at the elementary and middle school levels. I returned to teach at Western Valley. Reading and writing is a passion of mine, and I loved being a reading interventionist. Both of my children were born overseas. One resides in San Diego and the other Camas, Washington. My hobbies include traveling, reading science fiction and historical fiction, and competing in triathlons. I love connecting with students and community members. I look forward to serving you and your children as the Assistant Principal at Western Valley Elementary School.
