Western Valley Elementary School students are participating in Mac-Ro. Monthly, beginning in October, your child will be coming home with a math packet called Mac-Ro. Within this packet, you will find math problems which reinforce your child's classroom learning. This should be a fun, challenging packet which shows you how much your child is learning in math. Mac-Ro books are due back to the teacher on the 20th of each month. Below is more information about the Mac-Ro program and a photo example of what the books look like.

The MAC-Ro Math Initiative has a record of improving mathematics learning for elementary and middle school students.

Rooted in research, MAC-Ro was developed by experts in mathematics education and seasoned school leaders. This initiative provides all stakeholders the training and support needed to focus on quality instruction of Arizona’s Common Core Standards for Mathematics. Professional development for teachers, instructional leaders and administrators is supported by standards-based materials that engage students and parents in the learning of math.
